Radiant Rainforest Summer Camp
Monday, August 4 - Friday, August 8
8am-12pm
Instructor: Heather O’Hare
For young artists: Ages 5-8 years old
Supervised after-camp activities are available until 3:30pm. Please contact us at hello@planetaryartinstitute.org for more information or click here
Become immersed in an investigation of the tropical rain forests! Take a creative journey to the Rainforest and learn how to design many rainforest inhabitants. Explore the characteristics of rain-forest animals, including size, color, feeding habits and in which part of the forest they reside. Should they be perched in the emergent layer or sitting on the forest floor? Will they crawl through the shrubs, or swing from vines in the understory?
Children will create multimedia animal collages, detailed drawings, watercolor and acrylic paintings, rainsticks and 3D clay sculptures.
Tuition assistance is available to help make this programming available to all. For more information or to request assistance, please write to us at hello@planetaryartinstitute.org.
About the Artist-Teacher
Welcome Artists! My name is Heather O’Hare and I am grateful to be an Art teacher in our amazing community for the past 18 years. I am thrilled to work with young artists at Camp Meade this summer!
I believe that through the process of creating art, children experience creative thinking, problem solving and development of their inner artist. Children can express their imaginations, solve challenging problems and find inspiration while learning about far away places and our natural surroundings here in Vermont!
I live in Waterbury with my two children and my 11 ½ year old “puppy”. We love to spend time with family and friends, travel, bike, hike, ski and make art.
