Popstar Camp (Ages 8-14)

$350.00

Monday July 29 - Friday August 2
Ages 8-14
9am - 3pm
Artist-Director: Annie West Sklar
After camp supervision is available from 3-5pm; please write to us at hello@planetaryartinstitute.org for more information.

What is popular music? What are the elements that make a hit song? Why do certain artists become cultural icons whose presence transcends their music? In this week-long day camp, we’ll take a close look at our favorite pop, rock, and country music stars to see if we can crack the formula of their success. We’ll explore the history and influences that have shaped the world of popular music and its performers, then use what we’ve learned to write our own original songs, practice stage performance techniques, dream up star-worthy fashion looks, and even produce our own music videos!

Open to students ages 8-14; no musical or performance experience necessary, but an interest in the world of popular music is helpful.

Tuition assistance is available to help make this program accessible to all. Reach out for more information about assistance (and anything else): hello@planetaryartinstitute.org.
