We are excited to welcome Avi Salloway & Friends back to the Green for a luminous evening of art-rock and global grooves that make you want to dance. Featuring Avi Salloway (Billy Wylder/All the Rivers), Rob Morse (Hadestown/Vorcza), Marie Hamilton (Hammydown), and Anthony Lafond (Billy Wylder).
Avi Salloway is an acclaimed musician, activist, and educator based in Burlington, Vermont. His musical language was shaped through deep roots in American folk traditions, including time spent learning from Pete and John Seeger, and expanded through years of international touring with Tuareg guitar hero Bombino. He has also performed and collaborated with artists including Jack Johnson, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, David Longstreth (Dirty Projectors), Mike Gordon (Phish), Tinariwen, The Low Anthem, Celia Woodsmith, and Pete Seeger. Across more than 1,500 performances on six continents—including Coachella, New Orleans Jazz Fest, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center—Salloway has developed a reputation for performances that are immersive, unifying, and continually evolving. He is the bandleader of Billy Wylder and the founder and musical director of All the Rivers, a global ensemble of more than 20 immigrant musicians who now call Vermont home.
A native of Vermont, Rob Morse spent years in New York studying bass with John Patitucci and honing his composition at City College. Since then, he has performed and recorded with adventurous artists including the Barr Brothers, Taylor Haskins, Michael Chorney, and many more. Morse released his debut recording as a bandleader with his large-ensemble Sound of Mind project in 2018. A founding member of Anaïs Mitchell's Hadestown Orchestra, he continues to hold the bass chair for the Tony Award-winning musical.
Marie Hamilton, originally from Vermont and equally at home in Montréal, is a harpist, vocalist, and end-of-life doula whose work centers on care and human connection. With a background in music studies from McGill University, Hamilton blends formal training with an intuitive, largely self-taught approach to the harp, complemented by her celestial vocals.
Anthony Lafond is a dynamic drummer currently touring with Billy Wylder. A graduate of Berklee College of Music's Valencia campus, he holds a master's degree in Contemporary Performance and has performed internationally while contributing to more than 300 recording sessions.
