  • Camp Meade 961 U.S. 2 Middlesex, VT, 05602 United States (map)

We are so excited to welcome Avi Salloway back to the Green and he’s bringing Friends - what more could we ask for! Join Avi Salloway & friends for a luminous night of art-rock and global grooves. The band features Avi Salloway (Billy Wylder/Bombino), Rob Morse (Hadestown/Vorcza), Parker Shper (Leif Vollebekk), and Corey Wilhelm (Bombino, Kat Wright).

Doors at 5pm, music begins at 5:30pm

Salloway is an acclaimed musician and activist and recently moved back to Vermont from Los Angeles. He grew up learning music from American folk legends, Pete and John Seeger, and from an early age, was exposed to the power of music to bring people together. Salloway is the bandleader for Billy Wylder, has co-written, produced, and recorded on 15 albums and performed over 1500 concerts across six continents. He also toured for many years in Bombino’s band, the Tuareg guitar hero from Niger. Highlight performances include Coachella, New Orleans Jazz Fest, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center. He has collaborated and performed with renowned artists including Jack Johnson, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Tinariwen, David Longstreth (Dirty Projectors), The Low Anthem, and Pete Seeger.

A native of Vermont, Morse spent years in New York studying bass with John Patitucci and honing his composition chops at City College. Since then he's been performing and recording with a ton of innovative artists and genre benders like Taylor Haskins, Michael Chorney, the Barr Brothers and many more. A founding member of Anais Mitchell's Hadestown Orchestra, Morse still holds the bass chair for the Tony-winning musical.

Vermont based pianist/composer/producer, Parker Shper electrifies audiences with his genre-defying conception of the piano and electronic instruments. Shper’s unique sound has made him a fixture of the experimental indie music scene, working with a wide range of artists such as Richard Reed Parry (Arcade Fire), Trey Anastasio, Leif Vollebekk, Susie Ibarra, Yuka Honda (Cibo Matto), Anais Mitchell, The Barr Brothers, Akil the MC (Jurassic 5), and many more across the globe.

Originally from Massachusetts, Wilhelm has been a staple of the Vermont music scene for the last 15 years. He has spent the majority of the last decade touring internationally with Bombino while performing with a crew of Vermont based artists including Kat Wright. Wilhelm played drums on Bombino’s Grammy nominated album, Deran.
